Altaris Persians is the realization of a dream that started, and has grown, since 1995 when I
attended my first cat show.

At that very first show, I met Paul Solem and Larry Knight of Catzilla Persians. I was fifteen at
the time, and very excited to go to every local cat show. At each and every show, I would talk
with Paul and Larry. I remember vividly the thrill and excitement of the first time I took a cat up
to a judge's ring. Even now, I still feel that excitement every time I take up a cat to a ring.

I was mentored by Paul and Larry, and from them, I got my first show cat in 1996, GP Catzilla
Quicken Tree aka Qt, a blue and white bicolor neuter, who was a two show grand. In 1999, I got
my second show cat, a lovely female black Persian from Paul and Larry as a four month old
kitten. Her name was GC, GP, RW Catzilla Dusk. Dusk was a high kitten finalist, a two show
grand, and a regional winner in premiership. Paul and Larry also entrusted me to show their cats
as an agent a number of times with great success.

I am eternally grateful that Paul and Larry took the time to mentor and gave me a friendship that
has lasted beyond the cat fancy. I have been blessed to have made many wonderful friends in the
fancy.

Showing Dusk introduced me to the elegance of the solid black Persian, and I have become
devoted to the black Persian. After six years of showing, I had finally decided on a cattery name,
Altaris.

I am very honored to be entrusted with the beautiful cats I have gotten from other breeders,
especially, GC Boberan's Black Cole of Altaris, bred by Randy Primmer and Bob Farber.

In my first litter was my first homebred Grand Champion. GC Altaris A Special Delivery imoC.
A special delivery indeed, Colin is a wonderful example of how important friendships are. Thank
you Sandy Merrill!

Currently, I am in graduate school. As I finish this step in my life, I am keeping my numbers of
cats very low. I love and adore each of my cats, and I have always had a small number of cats so
each gets their own attention that they deserve. I do not show or breed every year due to my low
numbers, yet you can still find me at the shows as I am an active member of several local show
producing cat clubs.
